Vallgornera Castle , whose history dates back to 1123, is located in the idyllic municipality of Peralada, in Alt Empordà, and is recognized as national cultural heritage.
The property is immersed in a dreamy rural setting, surrounded by green fields and vineyards, which reflect the historical richness and natural beauty of the Peralada region.
In addition to its impressive surroundings, the castle offers a myriad of outdoor activities thanks to its proximity to picturesque medieval villages and renowned vineyards. And its proximity to the Costa Brava also offers the opportunity to enjoy beautiful beaches and coves, fusing history, nature and culture into a unique experience in Catalonia.
The current owner of the Castle was clear that she had to promote the tourist use of the property, but at all times preserving its historical legacy.
The assignment given to Bangolo was precisely to convert the architectural complex into a hotel that would allow guests to live an authentic experience of accommodation in a castle, but the rehabilitation would be carried out under demanding premises of sustainability and comfort.
In this rehabilitation, the challenge of the technical team led by Oriol Roselló has been to make the most of the existing structures to offer guests an experience with all the contemporary comforts. The different rooms have been managed to maintain their character, but have been adapted to meet current needs, offering spacious and comfortable spaces, specifically designed for a carefree and comfortable stay.
