A LUMINOUS PALACE IN EVERY CORNER

This project represents the transformation of a manor house into a home full of natural light and ventilation. Although the house had a magnificent garden on the south, interior ventilation was poor because of the numerous divisions made in the original property. In this renovation, an old, dark property has been converted into a bright and welcoming space.
The biggest challenge in this renovation was to eliminate the previous partitions that blocked natural light and ventilation. The goal was to reintroduce these vital elements in all spaces of the house.
To achieve this, first an elegant Catalan turn staircase was installed to connect the three floors of the house. This structure is not only aesthetically appealing, but also facilitates the distribution of natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting and improving the energy efficiency of the home. The staircase allows the light from the ceiling to reach the heart of the first floor, illuminating every corner.
At the other end of the property, in the darkest part of the house, a patio was created with a garden that opens to the kitchen. This patio not only provides light and freshness, but also improves ventilation, making the air circulate better throughout the house.
To take full advantage of the southern light, the original roof was raised high enough to open windows that offer spectacular views and abundant sunlight. The interior of the roof was finished with a reed lining, a natural material that adds warmth and creates a cozy atmosphere. In addition, this material is an excellent thermal and acoustic insulator, improving comfort inside the house.
Finally, a small terrace was added to the lower deck floor, allowing for spectacular views and providing additional space for outdoor relaxation.
With this renovation, every corner of the house was filled with natural light and ventilation, creating a healthier, more efficient and welcoming home. The materials and architectural elements used not only improve the aesthetics of the home, but also bring significant benefits in terms of comfort and sustainability.
