MADREMANYA
The major challenge of this construction was to build a new house in harmonious surroundings without causing an excessive impact on the environment. The house was adapted topographically to the existing unevenness and to take advantage of these differences to mark exterior areas so that the dwelling wasn’t limited to the covered area but made the most of the special surroundings of its location.
The layout minimises the corridor space and bestows a central communal area whose high ceilings match the use for which it was intended.
The materials employed evoke unique craftsmanship without renouncing comfort and functionality which today’s society demands. Although it is clearly a contemporary work, it hasn’t lost its bond with the land and that apt rustic character can be seen on this site.
