The Ecohabitar Magazine, a leader in bioconstruction and sustainable architecture, dedicates an extensive article to the rehabilitation project of Can Buch, a rural hotel located in the Girona region and renovated by our studio. The report highlights a way of doing architecture that we fully share: recovering the self-sufficient metabolism of farmhouses, maximizing the use of local materials and collaborating closely with local artisans.
At Can Buch, the stone from the original ruin, the wood from Montseny or the clay extracted in situ have become the foundations of an architecture that looks to the future from the wisdom of the past. The project recovers traditional techniques such as the Catalan vault or the cladding with clay and plant fibers, and is committed to an energy and circular management model, with its own production of energy, water and food.
Beyond materials and construction solutions, Ecohabitar highlights the key role of the developer and the community of artisans who have made possible a coherent, honest and deeply rooted work in the territory.
